Real Experience! Real Compassion! Relentless Advocacy!
I didn’t become a personal injury attorney because I always dreamed of practicing law. I became an attorney because my family experienced firsthand what happens when the actions of others changes your life forever. Today, I fight for injured Iowans because I understand what is at stake. An injury isn’t just a legal claim—it’s your health, your family, your livelihood, and your future – IT’S YOUR LIFE!
My Story
Everyone has a story about why they became a lawyer. Mine began in 2015 when I was 37 years old.
My wife suffered a life-changing brain injury during surgery at the University of Iowa. Overnight our lives changed forever. I left my non-law career to become her full-time caregiver because I believed she deserved the dignity of living at home—not in a long-term care facility.
That decision exposed us to a system that too often places bureaucracy ahead of people. We spent years advocating for basic rights, medical care, services, and independence. Along the way I became deeply involved in Iowa’s disability community, fighting not only for my wife but for others facing similar challenges.
Those experiences changed me. I realized there was a tremendous need for attorneys willing to stand beside ordinary people when they are facing hospitals, insurance companies, corporations, and even government agencies.
That realization inspired me to attend Drake Law School when I was 43 years old, where I graduated with honors.
Today I am proud to be a plaintiff’s attorney. Every case I accept represents a person whose life has been disrupted through no fault of their own. I understand that because I’ve lived it and, yes, my wife still lives with me today and we fight every day to make sure that doesn’t change.
